This lovingly restored Victorian building, at the heart of a charming Georgian village, is a perfect setting for a simple wedding or an ideal blank canvas for an extravaganza. We can run a bar and recommend suppliers from caterers to florists or you can organise everything yourself.

For a Saturday afternoon and evening reception you can hire the main hall from Saturday morning or even Friday if you have a lot to set up. You can leave it until Sunday to clear away or even until Monday morning if you need time to unwind. There may be activities in other rooms on Saturday morning but not during your reception.
We are very happy to run a bar for you and supply you with a list of local businesses who can provide everything you need to make your day run smoothly. Or you can do everything yourself. It’s up to you.

Here in Melbourne, we are surrounded by wonderfully photogenic backdrops; the small Logan Gardens are a 1 minute walk from MARs. The pool at Melbourne Hall is a very popular place to take wedding pictures and is only a 7 minute walk or 3 minute drive away.

Nobody at MARs will tell you what you should do on your wedding day. Some people like to keep it simple. Gather your friends and family in a lovely space, add food, drink and music and that may be all you need.
But you can do whatever you want, within reason.
Some people make the hall very elegant with wall drapes, lighting, flowers and plant arrangements. Other people bring their own dance floor and hire bands for the evening. But we have also had Alice in Wonderland themed weddings, Storm Troopers greeting guests and mobile Fish and Chip vans in the car park. It’s up to you!
The Hall is a high ceilinged room with wooden beams and polished wood floors. There is heating and ventilation fans for warm weather. There is an ambient lighting system with several programs for the room and a separate lighting system for the stage.
The stage is optional and 2 people can install or remove it in about 15 minutes. It can be used for the top table, bands or DJ’s. There are acoustic panels on the walls that make the whole space suitable for speeches and music, with or without amplification. We can provide tables and chairs or you can supply your own.
